Ecliptic, we are space avionics and sensor systems company with a customer base in commercial, civil and defense markets founded in Pasadena, California in 2001. Our flagship RocketCam™ product family is an onboard video system for rockets and spacecraft, with over 150 mission successes. Ecliptic avionics and sensor systems are also used to control and manage data for ISS experiments, science payloads, secondary payloads, and hosted payloads. More advanced systems support various rendezvous, proximity operations and in-orbit servicing objectives. We are proud to work with all major US space companies including NASA, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, MAXAR and ViaSat.

We are looking for a Production Engineer with the mission overseeing and improving the manufacturing processes of the company. This role entails ensuring the efficiency and safety of all production activities, as well as implementing new systems and technologies to meet engineering and quality specifications plus production timelines..
Tasks to be performed:
- Design and optimize efficient production processes to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Oversee the assembly and integration of electronics and optical systems used in aerospace applications.
- Creation and maintenance of work instructions for the manufacture, assembly, and integration of aerospace products.
- Collaborate with design engineers to translate aerospace equipment designs into manufacturable products.
- Support test engineers with the validation of the manufactured products.
- Support quality assurance engineers in the implementation and maintenance of quality control checks to ensure the reliability and functionality of the manufactured components.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to minimize production issues.
- Manage the supply chain for electronic, optical, and mechanical components, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality parts.
- Train production staff on new technologies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety and performance standards.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:

Level – Degree: • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software and understanding of electronic schematics.
- Strong knowledge of electronic assembly processes and standards (e.g., IPC standards).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 3+ years of experience in production engineering, specifically in electronics manufacturing, assembly, and integration.
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Experience managing people.
Additional Training/Qualifications:
The position is located in our office of Pasadena, California.
The candidate must be eligible to work in the US and must be able to conform to US Government space technology export regulations, applicants must be a US person, lawful permanent resident of the US, protected individual as defined by 8 USC 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the US Department of State..
