We are looking for a Senior Robotics Research Engineer in Control, who will be part of the robotics team, and will lead the definition, design and delivery of control algorithms at the platform level.
This role involves pioneering research into the latest control strategies applicable to our projects, specifying, designing, and testing advanced control algorithms. You will be part of a team capable of integrating world-class mechanics, control, software, and electronics with the aim of disrupting the interaction between robots and humans.
Tasks to be performed:
- Research and develop control algorithms. Deploy them on robotic platforms and validate their performance.
- Steering multidisciplinary reviews and collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of systems.
- Analysis of the SOTA in robotic control algorithms and methods
- Development of control algorithms for mobile robotic platforms
- Deployment and testing of control algorithms on mobile robotic platforms
- Design and development of evaluation metrics and testing methods to determine the performance of control algorithms.
- Collaborate with the rest of the robotics team in the development of robotic platforms and actuators.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- Relevant degree in Control Engineering (MsC/PhD).
- Sound knowledge of Robotic Modeling and model-based control algorithms.
- At least 3 years of experience in the development of control algorithms for robotics.
- Experience in the development and testing of control algorithms on robotic platforms.
- Knowledge of ROS2-based deployments.
- Proficiency with modeling tools (Matlab, Simulink/Simscape, or comparable tools).
- Motion planning for complex robotic systems.
- Model-oriented control approaches for dynamic and kinematic systems.
- AI-based control strategies for robotic systems.
- Proven track record of working in a research-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of mechanics, electronics and software, and its role/impact in complex systems and their control.
- Proficient in English.
- Data-driven, analytical mindset. Open to challenges.
- Detail-oriented person, with experience working in agile development. environments, especially when focused to product hardware development.
- We are also looking for a good person, someone who thrives working in multidisciplinary and ever-changing environments.
Additionally, we will also assess:
- Experience with Rapid Control Prototyping methodology.
- Experience in the development of control algorithms for humanoids.
- Experience working with agile methodologies.
