We are looking for a DIGITAL HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER with knowledge in the field of digital design for FPGAs, ASICs and SoC FPGAs. The successful candidate will have knowledge of digital circuits design, digital architectures with different objectives: hardware acceleration, dependability, and low-power consumption.
Tasks to be performed:
- Design digital circuits and FPGA-based systems for various applications using HDLs (preferably VHDL).
- Working in a multidisciplinary team researching and developing digital circuit designs, prototyping in FPGAs.
- Modeling and simulating complete solutions to evaluate digital circuits.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of FPGA prototypes.
- Participate in the analysis and specification of digital subsystems and participate and lead design reviews.
- Plan and execute tasks in collaboration with the rest of the team to ensure project objectives are met.
- Analyzing and criticizing solutions by using quantitative metrics.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Physics with knowledge in digital circuits design an FPGAs.
- Minimum Required Experience: 3-5 years.
- Experience in VHDL design.
- Experience with FPGA design tools (Xilinx Vivado preferably).
- Strong understanding of digital design principles, including logic design, state machines, and data flow.
- Proficient in using simulation tools to evaluate digital designs (Modelsim, Questa).
- Open minded and ready to be challenged with multi-disciplinary R&D projects.
- Personal skills: Attention to Detail, Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving, Adaptability and Learning, Team Collaboration and Communication, Innovation and Work Ethic.
Additionally, we will also value experience in the following areas:
- Experience in digital ASICs.
- Experience or knowledge in cryptographic implementations, hardware security, Side-Channel Analysis and/or Fault Injection.
- Laboratory’s electronic hardware and instrumentation usage.
- Embedded systems (SoC, microcontrollers).
- Research skills.
