Digital Signal Processing Engineer
If you are passionate about technology and want to take on new challenges to help improve the society we live in, this is your opportunity!
ARQUIMEA, we are a technology company operating globally and providing innovate solutions and products in highly demanding sectors.
Our areas of activity are Aerospace, Defense & Security, Big Science, Biotechnology and Fintech.
We are looking for a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer with solid experience in the design, modelling and validation of signal-processing algorithms for Software Defined Radio (SDR) and real-time embedded systems.
The initial focus of the position will be the development of modulation and demodulation algorithms for secure defense radio systems. The role may also contribute to space communication payloads and other advanced signal-processing applications.
Task to be performed
Define, develop and validate DSP algorithms for space and defense communication systems.
Design modulation and demodulation chains, digital filters, sample-rate conversion, channelization and spectral-processing functions.
Develop algorithms for synchronization, channel estimation, equalization, error correction, interference mitigation, noise reduction and non-linearity correction.
Create and validate signal-processing models using MATLAB/Simulink, Python and C/C++, evaluating solutions through quantitative performance metrics.
Collaborate with FPGA/digital hardware and embedded software teams to integrate algorithms into real-time FPGA, SoC and processor-based platforms.
Deploy prototypes and characterize end-to-end performance under representative conditions using RF and electronic laboratory equipment.
Work within multidisciplinary engineering teams and contribute to technical reviews, validation activities and project planning.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
University degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of professional experience in DSP algorithm development, preferably for SDR, telecommunications, space, aerospace, defense or another high-reliability sector.
Strong foundation in digital signal processing and digital communications, supported by practical algorithm-development experience.
Advanced proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for modelling, simulation, analysis and verification of signal-processing systems.
Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for modelling, test automation and reference implementations.
Experience designing and developing SDR architectures and communication waveforms.
Understanding of FPGA and SoC architectures and hardware/software partitioning for real-time signal processing.
Proficient English, both written and spoken.
Valuable
Implementation of real-time DSP algorithms on FPGAs or SoCs.
MIMO systems, digital beamforming or direction-of-arrival estimation.
Defense communications or Electronic Warfare, including robust waveforms and interference or jamming mitigation.
Satellite communication payloads and communication standards such as DVB-S2/S2X, CCSDS, 3GPP/LTE/5G or GNSS.
Hands-on experience with RF laboratory instrumentation, such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers and oscilloscopes.
We're looking for curious, creative, tenacious and collaborative people, eager to do things and unafraid to tackle challenges in order to contribute to improving the society in wich we live.
